KIA Seltos mid size SUV launched in New Delhi, India

Kia has launched its first compact SUV, Kia Seltos in India. The car has been designed specially for Indian road conditions and also keeping Indian customers in mind. KIA Seltos has made a milestone in Indian automobile history by offering 4 choice transmission in a single vehicle.

The four available transmission choice are

• CVT
• A 7-speed dual clutch automatic
• A 6-speed standard automatic and
• A 6-speed manual

The car also gets four drive modes, which can be selected manually using the rotary knob at the center of the console.

• Normal
• Eco
• Sport
• terrain

This 5 seater midsize SUV gets an eye-catchy stylish exterior design with a Tiger Nose silver grille, the rear bumper with metallic muffler effect, a sleek sharp-looking LED projector headlights, sharp fin antenna, dual tone machine-finished alloys and LED tail lamp.The car looks a way more sporty with a sharply riseing chrome-finished window line towards the rear.

The mid size SUV, Kia Seltos also comes with pull-type door handles, rain-sensing wipers, multi-layer 3D-effect turn indicators, Ice Cube fog lamps and an auto headlights.

The interior cabin looks premium and loaded with several features like a larger LED touch screen infotainment system with 10.25 inch display, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree surround view camera, 8-speaker Bose sound system and Head-up display. The decent amount of cabin space with leather seats adds additional beauty to the cars interior.

The vehicle comes with both the petrol & diesel version of 1. 5- litres engine. The company is also working on the performance oriented version of the SUV, which is likely to get a 140PS, 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol version of the Seltos also got a ‘GT Line’ badge on it, which is quite interesting.

While speaking about safety, the Kia Seltos comes equipped six airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors and a blind spot view monitor

The car is also equipped with UVO connect, a connected car technology for software based safety feature. The UVO connect offers a package of 37 features which falls under 5 categories namely Navigation, Safety and Security, Vehicle Management, Remote Control and Convenience.

The notable functionalities of connected car technology are AI Voice Command, Stolen vehicle tracking and immobilization, Auto Collision Notification, SOS-emergency assistance, Remote engine start & stop, Remotely operated Air Purifier and In-Car Air Quality Monitor, Safety alert.

Engine Specification

The company currently introduced the BS 4 version of the vehicle, the BS 6 version is likely to come around in Mid-2020. Both the petrol and diesel version of the vehicle is expected to get Automatic transmission as well.
