Suzuki gixxer sf 150 mileage, review and price

The long wait for a budget friendly faired motorcycle is finally over, as Suzuki unveiled their update of Gixxer sf 150 last month. The gixxer sf 150 is launched along with a naked gixxer 150 on September 2014. Its rivals bajaj pulsar 150, Tvs apache 160, Honda unicorn 160, Hero cbz xtreme and Yamaha yzf R15.

The bike received appreciable response and even the sales figures was satisfactory for the company. The company updated the bike with all new charisma, details and designed it much more sharply like a track buddy. Let’s see is this worth the wait.

The Suzuki gixxer sf 150 got a 155cc single cylinder air cooled engine. It is further mated to a 5 speed manual gear box with maximum output of 14.1ps @ 8000rpm and delivers peak torque of 14.0Nm @6000rpm. The engine misses the liquid cooling system to keep the cost low, when compared to its rival Yamaha R15 v3.

The bike comes with SOHC (single overhead cam) and it’s a fuel injection system. The chassis is made up of tubular steel frame which strengthens the overall structure. The kerb weight of the bike is 146kg which is fine for lean riders too.

Telescopic front suspension and rear mono shock suspension takes care of your ride comfort. The tyres are pretty similar one as the old Suzuki sf sp. The tank capacity is 12L which is perfect for a city commuter with a mileage of 45-55kmpl.

Features and updates

The handle bar is updated to clip on handles and the riding position is improved. Newly added feature like the single channel ABS is made default with the bike. The split seats, twin muffler and LED headlamps are added advantages. The instrument cluster is fully digital, simple and informative.

Suzuki gixxer sf 150 worth the wait

The fresh and aggressive design updates has made the all new Suzuki gixxer sf 150 better option. But  when compared to its rival Yamaha R15 V3, the sf 150 isn’t best in class.

The budget friendly pricing and the premium sporty design may get the audience, but in terms of performance the all new Gixxer sf 150 is miles behind.

So if you want a stylish faired motorcycle which do not empty your pockets often this is a best choice.
